I never planned to be a web designer. In fact, as a kid, whenever I wanted to buy something my mom would always tell me that we could 'make it' better. I can only imaging the eye roll from me. Today, I definitely appreciate that creative drive it put in me.
I got to college thinking I wanted to major in photography or drawing. Ultimately, I decided maybe the arts were'nt a profiable enough career, and ended up gettinga degree in food science and dietetics. After graduation, I bounced around for a while, photographed newborns, landed in R&D developing cooking algorithms for ovens (yes, really), and thought maybe that was the path.
Then I got laid off. And honestly? It was the best thing that ever happened to me.
I jumped into a software development program and learned how to write code, build websites from scratch, and somewhere along the way, I fell back in love with the thing I had originally walked away from: creating. Making something out of nothing.
That's where Sandstone came from. Not just the name, but the whole damn thing. Sandstone is the rock I've climbed on, camped under, driven hours to see. It's gritty and beautiful and bold. And I wanted to build something that felt like that.
So that's what this is. A studio for brands that don't want to blend in. For people who are ready to take the leap and build something that actually feels like them. I bring that same wildness, that same creativity, that same "let's just go for it" energy to every project.
